Police seek robber who threatened pregnant woman

Lakewood police have released surveillance images of a man suspected of robbing a convenience and threatening a pregnant employee.

The robbery occurred Friday, April 23 just before 1:15 p.m. at the K & S Market, 8533 South Tacoma Way.

The robber put a gun to Meeok Ahn's head and demanded she open the register and if he didn't get it -- there would be consequences.

She says tried to remain calm.

"I don't want to be nervous," she said. "When I get nervous, maybe he gets nervous and he's going to do something crazy."

The robber fled after the robbery and made off with about $300.

Making matters more difficult for Meeok, she's five and a half months pregnant, and the armed robbery has rattled her so badly, she cannot shake the nightmares.

She hasn't told her husband about them because she doesn't want him to worry.

"I have a couple of dreams after that happened," she said. "But, you know, when you get married you have children to take care of, you got to take care of all the responsibilities."

She has two children, with that third baby on the way.

Police say the robber was black, 18 to 21 years old, 6-feet-tall and 160 pounds. He wore a zippered, hooded sweatshirt with a multi-colored emblem on the back and a black baseball hat with a blue cursive letter "A" on the front.

Anyone with information about the robber is asked to call Lakewood police at (253) 830-5000.
