What's the first thing you should do in an emergency? Nothing, the first step is to do absolutely nothing but to look around, stop and think to take in the facts of what's actually happened. The Emergent Mindset's Ray Clouout. It's what he does to keep Washington workers safe. Training workers to get past the first few moments of an emergency. The edrenline rush kicks in, the mind switches to fight or flight mode and often times deadly mistakes are made in an emergency. Even a momentary pause to think can save your life. Stop and think, analize the situation of what's going on around you in an emergency. Survey your resources of what you have and don't have at the moment. Make a plan and act on that plan. People who develop a plan during an emergency are the ones who often survive when others don't.
